A guide price for a project this size (not including planting or designer fee) would be around £23,000 - £25,000inc VAT.
The main patio and path was old block paving which felt too 'driveway' like and not very inviting. The deck was old softwood and was rotten in a few places. The clients were very keen to attract wildlife to the garden so wanted new planting areas in the new design.
Our clients wanted hard-wearing and low maintenance materials that had a natural/neutral hue. They wanted a modern look with clean/straight lines and the garden separated into 'zones'. They opted for oak sleepers for the raised beds, design board decking in "Luna" finish and midnight black limestone as they liked its dusty tones when dry.
We installed 3 runs of wires across both lengths of fencing where there are raised beds so that the climbers could grow up and soften the fencing. Our clients needed cat-friendly plants and loved yellows, oranges, and whites, with a hint of purple. Some of the plants we planted were: Trachelospermum jasminoides, an Acer palmatum Katsura, Hakonechloa Macra Aureola, Alchemillia mollis, Geum 'Lady Stratheden', Echinacea white swan and Choisya x dewitteana 'White Dazzler'.
